Primary Acitvity

I just thought I'd post a few pictures of the fun we had for primary this last Saturday. It was one of our quarterly activities for the year, and was pretty entertaining. Crystal Souter, our second councilor in the primary planned the "Primary Carnival, " and the rest of us just helped get everything organized and set up for it. It turned out to be really great and I know the kids had lots of fun. I, lucky me, get to plan the next one :/, and I'm muchly terrified. Crystal set the bar pretty high, and I hope I can do as well as she did when it's my turn.

Since I can't move these pictures around for some reason, they aren't going to be in order of the way they happened... not like it really matters. :)

This was the "cake walk" done at the end of everything. (They didn't win any cakes, but everyone got a small beach ball that said "Walk With Jesus." We thought they were just fabulous.)

The carnival consisted of games that helped the children learn the teachings of Jesus. The kids would win tickets and at the end they got to buy treats with the tickets they won. This game was about the Widow's Mite. (The kids tried to drop pennies into the water and get them to land on a quarter at the bottom.)

I actually don't remember what this one even was, but this is a picture of Jordan. I've mentioned him to some of you. (He's a little hard to handle. :))

Some lovely women taking time to pose for me. (Crystal, second councilor on the far right)

This was the Wise Man/Foolish Man game. The older kids LOVED this one, and the competition was intense to build the highest tower. I LOVE Yusu's face in the back. :)

These are the other lovely women I work with in the primary. (Adrien, secretary, on the left; Jackie, president, on the right with new baby Addy) I'm so glad they're good at what they do.

Liam here is one of my favorites. He is quite possibly one of the fruitiest children I have ever met. He cracks me up! Here he is twirling his hair and "dancing?"

More of the Wise Man/Foolish Man competition.

Some cuties in the branch. (I'm pretty sure our small branch has more insanely cute children than most wards.)

Poor Josh didn't get to join in on all the fun, but don't you worry. He got to have some fun of his own. He was volunteering at the hospital all day long getting ultrasounds. No baby yet, but we'll keep you posted. ;) It was a long day for him, but he said it was really interesting, so we're both glad it was worth the time.

Please, For Your Enjoyment

I truly wish I could post all of our videos on the blog, but I'm sure you would not find them quite so hilarious as we did. These few however, are some clips of what we did for entertainment during our first day of packing for the new home.

You will notice that in the first clip, although I did not succeed, there are quite substantial finger prints in the foam later on. (It was really hard.)

(After two attempts, I would like to think I helped weaken it.)

Another semi-successful attempt.

Okay... so maybe I will post them all. You really don't have to watch all of them if you don't want to though. This is the final one. We had succeeded in the ultimate goal... to break it down enough that it would fit into our garbage shoot. :)

Craigslist Junkie

Okay. Whether Josh will admit to it or not, I place all blame upon him. How else would I have become so completely engrossed with craigslist? I find myself searching the listings everyday... for things that we don't even need!  Now, as our apartment is slowly running out of room with the recent purchase of a computer desk and our fabulous green sofa, we have found ourselves with not one, but TWO new/old chairs. Combine that with the beginnings of packing boxes for our new home, and we find ourselves with little room for walking. The only way I allow myself to go on is the thought of our new three bedroom home. Oh how I can't wait to fill the dining room and two extra bedrooms with fabulous finds from craigslist. Oh my Josh, what kind of monster have you created?

The two chairs in all their glory. (Rocker on the left)

a house to live in

So, this is the house we're going to rent next year.

It is in the nicest neighborhood & is pretty cute itself!  We are planning on moving in during May.  Just wanted to post some pictures.  Details to follow.  One thing I can say for sure is that we will be getting a puppy!

This blog's title began due to our microscopic apartment in Logan rich after we got married.  Although this house is not big by any means, it no longer falls under "small."  We're so excited!

Take Me To the Circus!

On Wednesday night, Sydney surprised me and took me to the circus.  She told me a few weeks ago that I had to move Young Men's this week because we were going to something special on Wednesday.  She was right, & we had so much fun!  The whole entire show was awesome and amazing!  Despite being a little old for the circus, we both had a wonderful time!
My favorite stunts can be seen in the following links.  These guys were jumping all over the place with the catapult/trampoline things.  I couldn't believe that they lived through it.

Double Backflip on STILTS!

Double Backflip on SINGLE STILT!

Sydney says that her favorite part was the incredibly flexible ladies.  (At one point, one of the women put her chin on the ground, and then bent all the way around to put the front of her knee on the ground about a foot in front of her chin.  Seriously...Circus Freaks!

Don't you worry, the circus is keeping up with technology.  In the grand opening, there was a train/parade of power ranger-like people on Segways.  Very enjoyable.

Also, in other news, there is a new house in the works.  We've filled out our application & just trying to get everything finalized.  We'll get some pictures posted soon & will likely be moving sometime in May.  We're excited to get a puppy!

Black Cory & Our Possible New Home

We found him at a McDonald's just outside of Washington D.C.  You may think to yourself...that looks a lot like Kobe Bryant.  Sydney and I thought...wow...that looks a lot like Cory...but black.  He even stood and walked like him.

Also, while Sydney's parents were here, I was parking the car & ended up right behind this little fellow.  I thought it was like a fake garden goose, but I soon realized that 2 real geese were chilling in the back of this Volvo.  Oh the joys of Richmond.

Other news as of late is our search for somewhere to live next year.  We've been in a 1 bedroom downtown & it's been nice, but we want something a little bigger for when people come and visit, & we want to be allowed to have a puppy.  We're thinking about renting this home.  What do you think?

It's pretty cute.  2 bedrooms & it has a backyard with a shed.  Sydney is about going to die from looking for apartments & houses and stuff.  I've turned her into a craigslist/internet addict she says.  I will have no blame.
